✅ALL ABOUT HIRING A BIRTH DOULA✅

So you’re pregnant and thinking about hiring a birth doula 🤩 A birth doula is someone who offers emotional, physical and educational support to a woman and her partner before, during and after childbirth. It’s important to know that a doula should support your birth. Even if it means scheduling a planned cesarean or wanting an epidural! It’s YOUR birth. Her job is to give you the risks vs benefits, let you choose your birth style and give you support towards whatever you choose! She’s not just there to rub your back, although back rubs are yummy 🤤 She’s there to help you navigate choppy water too. You can plan your birth all you want, but at the end of the day, you cannot predict how your birth will go.  A Doula can help you through unpredictable situations in childbirth. She cannot and should not speak for you. She can help you find your voice and aid in a healthy relationship between you and your care provider. With that being said, here’s the facts, a birth doula can:

📌significantly lower your chances of a cesarean
📌lower your chances for pitocin to augment labor and medicine for pain management
📌reduce the length of labor
📌aid you with putting together the birth you desire
📌give you childbirth education
📌give you the risks vs benefits to every procedure
📌give you confidence in birth
📌aid your partner as well by giving him/her tips on how to help you through labor and birth, as well as give your partner proper breaks during labor to eat, shower or nap.
📌higher chance of satisfying birth experience
📌lower your chance of postpartum depression
📌aid you in breastfeeding with a higher success rate
📌ease your anxiety about birth
